Robert earned his Chartered Accountant designation while working at Ernst & Young in Halifax in 1989. In 1991, he transferred to Ernst & Young’s Mississauga office and joined the IT Group. As a manager, Robert assisted clients with selecting and implementing accounting software. After a short time, it became clear that
Sage MAS 90 was a full featured accounting software worthy of more research. On a project basis, Robert was involved in identifying areas of the
Sage MAS 90 software that needed to be changed to make it Canadianized, with specific focus on taxes.
Shabnam and Robert joined forces in 1994 and Munjal,White Consulting Corporation was born! In 1997, Robert joined one of MWCC’s clients on an 80% full time basis as their CFO. As a member of the senior management of the company, Robert implemented an integrated financial reporting structure (integrating
Sage MAS 90, F9, and a homegrown time and billing system). The company grew from 25 to 150 staff before being acquired by a public company. One year after this company was acquired in 2001, Robert returned to MWCC on a full time basis with ‘real world’ experience and has a new found understanding for what information is valuable for managers to manage a business.
In 2003, Robert passed the IQEX exam (IQEX is an acronym for the International Uniform Certified Public Accountant Qualification Examination. The Examination is one of the requirements used to assess the professional competence of Australian and Canadian Chartered Accountants who wish to obtain the CPA certificate). Robert is now a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois.
On a personal note, Robert comes from a golfing family and enjoys spending quiet time on the golf course chasing that little white ball!
